Andrea our host was the most helpful host I have ever come across, contacting us before our stay to ensure we knew where to go, greeting us and providing us with a welcome drink, and taking us on a tour in his boat. The residence is historic and charming and it was a real experience to stay somewhere that isn't a commercial hotel. It was tucked away from the busy Venice streets, being private and quiet, whilst handy for any of the touristic sites.

There was no air conditioning, which we should have expected due the age of the residence. However, we were provided with a large fan and managed OK. It was unseasonally hot when we were there otherwise we wouldn't have noticed the heat.

It is a real palazzo. All rooms are wonderful furnitured. Is a dream Andrea our host made us feel at home. Is very easy to reach from the vaporetto station and is at foot distance for all important places in Venice Adiacent activities are taking place in the same location and exhibitions part of the Bienale have been located here too Not a boring place a wonderful terrace were we could meet our friends at a glass of vine We will come back to stay here again

We enjoy listening to a music concert in the Hotel and seeing a mariage arriving in a boat right at the hotel Palace.

Attractive hotel, authentic antique furnishings, good location in residential area. Our room was opposite a school so a little noise in the morning but it helps to get you up and seeing the sights.Breakfast is on the sunny terrace.Owner friendly and helpful.

    Hand-held mixer-tap type shower only.

I was a but surprised to come across the double doors in the wall. Correct number but no name. The owner (Andreas?) assured me they were a bed and breakfast and not a hotel. He made my brother and I most welcome and offered us coffee on the terrace immediately. To say I was pleased with our room would be an understatement and it became my highlight of Venice. Ca' Zanardi was previously a palace and upon entering the first floor level I was blown away by the size of the room, the chandeliers and stunning floor. Our room was beautiful-the ornate bedheads, the classic, old furniture and beautiful windows. The walls and doors were fabric lined (not wallpaper). Bathroom old but sufficient. Breakfast lovely on the terrace and very nice, helpful owner. The 'hotel' was situated very close (but over bridges and down several narrow laneways) to the water vaporetto in a residential part of Venice (no tourists here!). I have told everyone about it and would love to go again!!!

Ca'Zanardi is a charming guest house. Great location, fabulous, historic decor and great staff. The suite we stayed in was the largest room we have ever stayed in, and it felt very special. I would highly recommend staying here in Venice.

It was the complete package - The room was gorgeous, the location was perfect..away from the main sector yet only a short walk into the centre of town...

Staying at Ca Zanardi was a dream come true! It was very easy to find with the instructions from Andreas the host, just 5 minute walk from the vaporetta stop. We were able to choose our room from the 2 avaialble as we arrived early. The suite was massive with a traditional and luxurious venetian feel. The bathroom was again very large with a bath and shower, no issues with the water temperature. There is a roof terrace area where you can sit and enjoy a prosecco or 2. The location was great just 15 minutes walk to San Marco and some smaller squares close by. Everything was amazing, I can't wait to return! Big thank you to Andreas.

This is a b&b like no other. Built in 18th century by a person of nobility, it is grand! Huge rooms, large private bathroom. Period furniture and chandeliers! Lovely outside terrace which is used for breakfast or just to relax. Andreas was a terrific host and very helpful. He sent an email to us the day before we were due to check on our arrival time and to give us directions from the train station. In a grand residence, the atmosphere was very relaxed and made you feel like you had your own space. Downstairs space is used for various purposes, was getting ready for an artistic exhibition when we were there...surrounded by wonderful things.

No aircon, but we kept the room shutters closed before we left in the morning, windows open at night and the fan on. Would have loved a shower but our room only had a bath, but we did have a hand held shower head. The residence is a little away from the centre but it did mean that you felt that you were getting away from the hustle and bustle and had your own peace and quiet. Highly recommended.

Rezidenza Ca'Zanardi is not a hotel is a temporary home. It is a very cozy venitian palazzo. Very convenient to get there from the Airport by Alilaguna blue line to Fondamente Nove, from train station by vaporetto to Ca' D'oro station. Very impressive hall at the first floor looking like a ballroom taken from movies, with paintings and different pieces of venitian art. Huge rooms, very high with renaissance style furniture takes you into a fairytale. 20 minutes walking to Ponte Rialto through narrow streets full of shops. Very friendly staff especialy Andrea the manager who is able to give you all the information you need about the city. Ca' Zanardi is the host of temporary art exibitions, tango nights, etc. By the way Andrea quit fishing or be aware of mosquitos. All in all was a great and unforgetable experience.

There is no tv but who cares; you are in Venice. Poor continental breakfast but in a holliday you have plenty of time to eat out whatever you want whereever you want all day long.

We had a really enjoyable experience at Ca' Zanardi. The manager contacted us prior to our arrival to be sure our room would be ready for check-in and was able to allow for early check-in. The room was ready when we arrived including the cot we had requested for the baby. We stayed in the largest apartment-style family room which was really spacious. The location is a 20min easy walk from San Marco Square but alternatively within 2 minutes of water transportation. It is also near a main street with restaurants and shops. The breakfast was fresh made croissants and a variety or beverages. The manager was very approachable and open to helping us navigate the city and speaks perfect English among other languages. We had an amazing terrace and a nice view over a canal.

The place is an old renovated palace and therefore has some beautiful features and finishes, however, it is not in perfect condition which could put some people off. A few cracks in the plaster, etc. We found this to be minor compared to the marble floors, beautifully painted doors, etc. The kitchen has some cooking utensils but is a bit limited so best for preparing simple snacks. The space was 2 floors up but there was indoor space for us to leave our stroller on the ground floor.

Well it was not clean at all. We have stayed there 3 nights and there was no cleaner entered in to our room. We had to use same bed covers every night. Hotel it self wasn't clean but staff was friendly and helpful.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, Andrea was very helpful and even supplied directions to the hotel and to the cruise terminal, the breakfast was most enjoyable and an added point of interest was the Tango club that was there when we arrived added to the charm of the hotel a very nice place to stay, we would recommend this hotel and will stay there again

I liked the welcome Andrea gave us ,he was worried as we were running late ,he gave a most welcome drink of wine on arrival ,showed us to our huge room ,over looking a small canal, and pointed what to see in venice and what not to do ,he booked us to a few out of the way restaurants which were great and not expensive .Andrea was always willing to help you with tips on what to do and what to be aware of .He made all guests to fell they were the only ones staying at Ca'Zanard. All the staff were very pleasant and willing to make you stay memorable. Nicely decorated

had an iron but no ironing board ,i feel that is an important when you are travelling ,as clothes do get very crushed some people may be annoyed with the noise of the children arriving to school at 0730 ,but i am sure you wouldn't hear them from the inside rooms

  • Older travelers

The owner was delightful and very helpful. The decor was very interesting and typical impressive, exciting Venician style. 15th century mixed with modern contemporary art. We got to watch the Tango dancing club in action on the terrace on Sunday night.

The entrance and grounds looked a little unkempt and in need of a bit of rearrangement of furniture and a tidy up, but that was after a long hot summer. Just to keep up to the impression of arriving upstairs.
